Working from home is fast becoming the most popular way to start a business and with good reason. Not only its it cost-effective, it make achieving a manageable work/life balance much easier (as long as you are sensible!)
Cost is often the first consideration when weighing up the benefits and drawbacks of taking on business premises or whether to work from home but there are practical issues to take into account too.
Clearly, if you are going to open a high street shop or catering establishment, running the business from home is never going to work. However, even if you are computer-based or spend most of your day travelling to see your customers/clients, you will have think about the effect that opening a home office might have on domestic harmony. Also are you going to be able to concentrate and work without interruptions or distractions?
