You should find a way that actually works for you and then stick with it and quit trying to follow all of the other people that are trying to confuse you. Lets look at 3 top tips for finding a good keyword now.

Number 1 - Use Your Brain
The best thing that you can do when it comes to a keyword search strategy is simply to use your brain. Use some long tail keywords and see what you can come up with. If you are having a little bit of a brain block maybe you want to go outside and look around to see if you can get some inspiration.

Number 2 - Use Google Keyword Tool
Once you have gotten some inspiration and you think of a niche that you want to get into you can head over to the google keyword tool. All that you have to do is type in google keyword tool into the search engine and then you are going to be able to pick the top result and there you go you are ready to use the keyword tool to get some good ideas of keyword that people are actually searching for.

Number 3 - Use Quotation Marks
Finally you have found a good group of keywords and you think these are what you want to target on your site. How do you know that they are truly good keyword however? It is very important that you search for the term using quotation marks. This means that you will get the amount of pages that are going after that exact phrase. If you are a beginner I suggest that you go for keywords that have fewer than 3,000 pages targeting that keyword. Make sure that the search volume is high enough though.

Conclusion
These are very basic but they can greatly help you when you are looking for a good keyword search strategy. If you keep running around in circles you are not going to get anything done so make sure that you pay close attention to what you are doing and the course of action that you have set into play instead of constantly looking for another way to make things easier.
